CareerTruth: Mastery

Let’s talk about Mastery – one of the three arcs of our CareerTruth philosophy. Mastery is what most people focus on when thinking about their career. This arc represents the trajectory of skills, knowledge and capabilities you acquire over time. The Mastery arc tends to start off as a steep curve and tapers off over time. Your expertise begins with education, then your knowledge, skills and competencies continue to build through work and learning experiences.

The path to mastery starts with knowing where you are today and recognizing you have more to learn to get you where you want to be.  CareerTruth will help you to take stock of where your current level of mastery is, and to identify where you want to be at a future point of your career. This will reveal a gap which becomes a focal point of your development plan. For example, say you’re a 28-year old software developer and your goal is to become a principal software engineering manager within the next 3 years. Your plan would include getting experience in a variety of coding languages, leading teams and projects, executive communication skills, and developing business acumen.

The result will be a personalized development plan based on your specific goals for achieving mastery, seeking freedom, and leaving your legacy. Based on your goals and gaps, CareerTruth will recommend actions, learning and content customized to you. You will know what you want to do and why, and you’ll also have a strategic plan to get there.

In addition to guiding your development plan, CareerTruth allows you to manage your career information confidentially in an ongoing way, thus being an evergreen tool for you to use throughout your career.  It’s independent of any employer career platform, and is entirely yours.

For example, you can upload documents to a vault and log key information such as your education, skills, experiences and competencies in your Professional Inventory. You can also capture successes, feedback, assessments, certifications and compensation information. This way, when reflecting on your plans, successes, and learnings, all information relating to your career progression will be at your fingertips.

You’ll also have the option to connect with CareerTruth certified career coaches on demand who can help refine your goals and your plan.

We believe in your potential. With the right guidance and mindset, you can master your domain and accomplish your professional goals. We’ll be here to guide you along the way.
